Early Voting for Braddock

Only registered residents within the Braddock District can vote.

Democrat Rachna Sizemore Heizer

Republican Ken Balbuena

Independent Carey Campbell

Early in-person voting for the Braddock District supervisor special election begins today, Friday, Oct. 24, as three candidates vie for the vacant seat on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. The Dec. 9 special election will fill the remainder of the term following the Sept. 10 resignation of James R. Walkinshaw, who was elected to Congress. Only registered residents within the Braddock District are eligible to vote.

The three candidates in the race are Democrat Rachna Sizemore Heizer, Republican Ken Balbuena, and Independent Carey Campbell. Heizer secured the Democratic nomination earlier this month.

Candidate Platforms

The candidates are focused on key community issues.

Democrat Rachna Sizemore Heizer is campaigning on affordability (affordable housing, fair wages, a smarter tax base), quality of life (protecting academic integrity, environmental preservation, safe streets, protecting federal workers), and a smart economy (job creation in new technologies, supporting small businesses). https://www.electrachna.com/rachnas-plans

Republican Ken Balbuena plans to reduce the tax burden on homeowners by addressing the commercial vacancy rate. His priorities include preserving Lake Accotink, fixing Braddock Road, and promoting fiscal responsibility and safe neighborhoods through increased funding for first responders. His campaign motto is "People before politics." https://www.kenforbraddock.com/priorities

Independent Carey "Chet" Campbell, a veteran, frequent candidate and community leader, prioritizes strong schools, police, fire, and human services. He advocates for finding new revenue to relieve homeowners while maintaining public services, drawing on his four decades of community and federal service, including extensive experience as an accountant. https://careychetcampbell.com/
